There are several options available to you when you want to head to Bangkok from Koh Samui, which include bus, ferry, and train. Of course, the option you choose depends on your budget and time.
Bus Services from Koh Samui to Bangkok
All the buses for Bangkok leave from the new bus terminal in Nathon, from the west coast of Koh Samui. All our buses are air-conditioned, and have economy and VIP seats available.
The difference in service between the VIP and economy seats is space (leg room), comfort, and complimentary refreshments.
For this journey, you will head to the Nathon bus terminal in Koh Samui from your hotel, one hour before your departure time. The travelling begins with a quick trip to the car ferry: Raja in Lipa Noi, and Seatran in Nathon, depending on the bus company. You will get off to cross to Donsak by ferry, a journey that takes about an hour and a half; this is already included in the ticket price. Once in Donsak, you will wait for the bus and board it when it arrives and head to Bangkok.
The travel time from Koh Samui to Bangkok is between ten to twelve hours; the bus usually has two stops on the way, at Thai service stations: you will find restaurants, shops, and restroom facilities there. Thai movies are also usually played in the bus as the journey begins from Donsak.
In the recent months, some of the bus services have also installed VOD (Video on Demand) services that include a variety of English movies as well as some games to pass the time during the trip. When you are making a booking with us, you can enquire about the bus services.
